Kapiti Women's Centre - Women supporting women

Some things to think about

The counselling room:

  • The counselling room at KWC is small. If you have children, please make arrangements for their care during your sessions. The staff at KWC cannot supervise them.

Being contacted at KWC:

  • If you have asked someone to contact you at the Centre or to take you home, please inform the duty Centre Worker. Without this information the confidentiality policy at KWC does not allow them to confirm that you are in the building.

Valuing our service:

  • At various times during your counselling you will be asked to complete an Evaluation of the KWC Counselling Service form. Your evaluation is important for us and ensures the service is the best it can be.
  • The evaluations are anonymous and confidential.
  •  If there are any concerns about what you report, the Coordinator may discuss these with her Supervisor and the Counsellor.

Cancellations:

Because of the high demand for the counselling service, you must make every effort to come to your appointments. If you cant make any session, we ask that you notify the Centre at least 24 hours before your appointment. Any late cancellations will be included in your allocation of eight sessions. Remember, other women are on the waiting list and missed appointments delay their access to counselling.
