2010 TERM FOUR COURSES FOR KAPITI WOMEN’S CENTRE
KWC courses are very popular which means booking is essential. To register your interest in a course, contact us by telephone or visit the Centre. Your place on the course will be confirmed by payment of a $15 booking fee per course and any equipment fees incurred. A low cost crèche is available for all courses this term.

We are open Mondays to Fridays 9:00am - 3:00pm school terms; Thursdays 9:00am – 8:00pm.
The Choice:
This course allows participants to experience ways that invite reflection and actions towards building better relationships. Mondays, beginning 1 November from 9.30am to 11.30am for 6 sessions. Tutor: Trish Cosgrove. Course fee: $15.00
Creative Photography:
Discover the ‘art of seeing’ through photography. This course will reveal how creative you can be using your digital camera – no experience necessary. Mondays, beginning 1 November from 12.30am to 2:30am for 5 sessions. Tutor: Janie Walker. Course fee: $15.00 and $10.00 Development fee to be paid to tutor.
Ideal Image for U:
Look good and feel great! What is your body shape and which colours can you wearω Make-up and how do you apply itω This course will teach you how to bring out the best in yourself. Tuesdays, beginning 2 November from 9:30am to 11:30am for 4 sessions. Tutor: Shirlee Hodder. Course fee $15.00
Stress versus Relaxation:
If you are in a tizzy and you find your mind is too busy, come to this course and learn how to slow down the thinking process. Be prepared to learn, laugh and have fun. Thursdays, beginning 28 October from 9.30am to 11.30am for 3 sessions. Tutor: Margaret Hannon. Course fee $15.00
Flower Essence Therapy:
A course for those who seek to improve their health, overall quality of life and self-transformation using flower essences. Fridays, beginning 5 November from 9:30am – 11:30am for 2 sessions. Tutor: Sonna-Ra Kavanagh. Course fee $15.00
Introduction to Mosaics:
A great opportunity to learn the basics of this interesting and versatile art, as well as creating your own design. Thursdays & Fridays, beginning 18 & 19 November from 9.15am to 11.45am for 2 sessions. Tutor: Gail Lewis. Course fee $15.00 and Equipment fee: $15.00
Marvellous & Magnificent Mirrors:
Create a marvellous mirror for your home or as a special gift using recycled materials and spray paint. Friday 26 November from 9.15am to 11.45am for 1 session. Tutor: Gill Allen. Course fee $15.00 and Equipment fee: $5.00
Introduction to Needle Felting:
Needle felting is quick and easy and fun! On this course you will make a small bear from alpaca fibre and clothe him/her using coloured wool. All materials provided. Thursdays & Fridays, beginning 2 December from 9.15am to 11.45am for 2 sessions. Tutor: Debbie Lattey. Course fee $15.00 and Equipment fee: $15.00
Fancy Funky Feet:
Take a walk on the wild side and create a unique doorstop, paperweight or beautiful ornament using a shoe mould. Thursdays & Fridays, beginning 9 December from 9.15am to 11.45am for 2 sessions. Tutor: Gill Allen. Course fee $15.00 and Equipment fee: $15.00
Evening Course - Singing For Beginners:
The course aims to empower participants to use their singing voice and provide tonable skills. Gain confidence and have fun. Thursdays, beginning 28 October from 6:30pm to 8:00pm for 6 sessions. Tutor: Rachel Morgan. Course fee $15.00
Women Older & Wiser or Wackier (WOW):
A fortnightly gathering for “older & wiser/wackier” women of the community. Join them for a cuppa, discussions, ideas and friendships. Gatherings are held every second Wednesday starting 13 October at 12:15pm. Bring your lunch and enjoy a hot or cold drink.
Transforming Communication
On this course you will acquire new and exhilirating choices in your life when you learn these powerful, cutting-edge communication skills. Saturdays, beginning 30 October from 9:00am to 4:30pm for 4 sessions. Tutor: Sharon McCarthy. Course fee $15.00
