Kapiti Women's Centre Fund Raising Events

This year the Kapiti Women's Collective had the opportunity to assist Bunnings Waikanae with their stock take as part of our fundraising.  A great team of 10 women and other volunteers gave their time on the 30th April and we raised $470.00.  This money will go towards insulating the Centre.

Another opportunity to raise funds for the Centre arose when the Collective was invited to waitress for the launch of the new Volunteer Kapiti office on Monday 21st June.  Five wonderful women volunteered to assist with serving food and drinks to the the guests who attended the official launch at the Kapiti Community Centre and they raised $150.00 for the Centre.

A team of nine brave Kapiti Women's Centre women, dressed as butterflies, celebrated midwinter by heading into the sea as part of the annual Polar Plunge at Waikanae Beach. This is the fourth time women from KWC have taken part in this event. $177.00 was raised for the Centre by these women who used their initiative to find sponsorship for their icy swim.
